Gifts for Japanese business acquaintances 2013/5/14 05:43
I will be traveling to Japan to give seminars at 2 pharmaceutical companies. I know I should bring small gifts for my scientist hosts, should these be food items or would a small picture book about my home state of Colorado be appropriate? I have also heard that I need to bring a gift for the company CEO as they are my "official' hosts. Is this correct and what would be appropriate?

I would recommend to give something that they can consume rather than something that takes up space. Everything is smaller in Japan and space is already an issue. Chocolate, wine are always nice.
