Japanese lotto

I was wondering about the lottery. I read in a 2008 forum that foreigners can win it. Is it still true? I'm a resident in Japan with a working visa. Can I apply?
How can I find out the winning numbers?
Has anyone won anything before?

The participation in the lottery (takarakuji) does not require any residence status or nationality. There is not even a lower age limit.

You can check them on the internet or go to one of those lottery booths and they will check them for you!

You can use Google translate to get a basic translation in English or other languages.
I have done it for all sorts of basic info, including translating the basic info about real estate pages and it works quite well.
