what cultural meals is kikkoman used for? 2013/6/5 09:41
Kikkoman sauce is a very popular soy sauce brand in Japan, as I've heard. Do you use this soy sauce for sushi, or what cultural meals do you use it for?

Soy sauce is used in Japanese cuisine in a similar way as salt is used in Western cuisine: to season a wide variety of different dishes - both in the kitchen and at the table.

talei,

Most Japanese people don't mind whether your soy sauce is Kikkoman or Yamasa or any other brand, if that's what you're asking. Usually we can't even tell the difference by taste.

I use soy sauce in my fried eggs... Sunny side up, salt, pepper, and soy sauce.

I prefer Maggi seasoning though. Tastes similar, but distinctly different.
