Phone and laptop internet connection in Tokyo 2013/6/12 03:53
So as im reading around , im getting more confused so il ask simple questions and please answer me as simple as possible so i can understand!

1.I have samsung galaxy gt-s5660 , its not unlocked so is there possibilty of getting internet so i can use goggle maps or navigation to get around tokyo??

2.If i bring my laptot , can i buy some usb device at Narita airport and just plug it in my laptot and i have internet and GPS on my laptot?

Yes, either with international data roaming (expensive!) or by using wifi hotspots. There are lots more free ones available these days. See this page for more info:

Yes, you can get a usb internet device (but no GPS unless its already built in on your laptop or you have a separate gps antenna). They can be rented from one of the kiosks on this page or ordered online:

Streets & Trips USA has a cheap GPS receiver you can use. Lots of other GPS receivers you can buy that'll attach to USB for use with Laptops.

Naturally, you'll have to offline maps as well - openstreetmaps will do. Or buy any of the digital maps they sell in any computer store in Japan for use on a laptop.
