If your intention is to ask, for example, when ordering food, "(This food) is not spicy, right?" then you can simply say: - Karakunai desu ne?
You could also say: - Kodomo ga karai mono wo taberarenai node. (It is because my children cannot eat spicy food.)
If you ask for the opposite of "karai," the adjective that comes to mind is "amai," but this means "sweet," so you'd end up with sweet dessert and stuff :)

Christophe,
If I were you, I would ask for something that is "piri-karaku-nai."
"Karai" also means "salty," but since what you want to avoid is "spicy," you should insist that it shouldn't be "piri-karai."
That's the best way to make sure that the food for your children is "not spicy."
On a side note, the Japanese also typically avoid feeding salty (shio-karai) food as well as spicy (piri-karai) food to infants.
