best cat cafe in tokyo? 2013/6/29 21:52
Hi all,

Was just wondering what cat cafe is the best to visit while in Tokyo? I have heard of the calico cat cafe but that it is quite crowded even midweek so was wondering if there was a good alternative?

Also, apart from the seemingly obligatory maid themed cafe, what would be an interesting 'theme' eatery to visit... i have read about the robot cafe, the Alice in wonderland cafe, gundam wing(?), alcatraz, vampire cafe but nothing that really tickles my fancy so far. However, you know the saying... while in Rome...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Calico is the best - perhaps the Kichijoji branch is less crowded than Shinjuku? Also, Nekorobi (http://bento.com/rev/3036.html ) in Ikebukuro is nice, and is around the corner from Nekobukuro (the cat noncafe atop Tokyu Hands).

Raagf (http://www.whereintokyo.com/venues/25417.html ) is the best of the rabbit cafes, and Tori no Iru Cafe (http://www.whereintokyo.com/venues/25411.html ) is interesting if you like owls.

I was going to offer those exact suggestions - the (original) Calico in Kichijoji, and Nekorobi in Ikebukuro. Those are certainly my two favorites, and neither should have a wait midweek.
