Sumo Fighting in August 2013/7/20 12:41
Hi,

We are visiting Japan between 2nd Aug - 12th august. Is there any place where we can watch sumo matches?
Everywhere I'm reading that matches are there in Sept, at least is there a place where we can see Sumo's practice sessions? Are practice sessions open for public or visitors? Can we request for a photograph with sumo fighters?

please suggest.
thanks.

Main Sumo tournament will be held on the odd months(Jan,Mar,May,Jul,Sep,Nov).

On an even month(Feb,Apr,Jun,Oug,Oct,Dec), there are some special match in countryside.

On the period of your trip, it will be held in Tohoku region(Akita,Iwate,Yamagata).it is pretty far from Tokyo.

But this web site is saying as follow.

Visitor have to keep silence.

At least one Japanese have to be included in each group.
