can somebody recommend me some good (cheap) place to try tofu,

im planning to eat lunch at hirokawa and eat some tofu for dinner
then head back to Kyoto

i read some good things about shoraian but it is a little bit to much time consuming

I have no idea in Arashiyama, sorry, but if you can do it another time, Kiyomizudera does great tofu.

Toufu in Kyoto reminds me around Nanzen-ji temple.
I visited to eat yu-doufu (boiled toufu) at 順正(Junsei) before.

And you maight want to try 湯葉(yuba; skin of Toufu) that is milky and tasty, if you like toufu very much.
Although yuba seems not famous overseas, Japanese toufu lovers love it so much.
