to - quotation in song lyrics

I've been looking up information on it, but the only help I get with 'to' as far as quotation is concerned is when it's used with 'iu' or 'omou.'
ありきたりな恋でいいと 素直に心揺らしてた
How would this translate? '"An ordinary love is okay"... "I said"? Or is it the "心" that is saying it? Or is it separate? '"An ordinary love is okay" ... my heart was trembling.'?

Hell. It's like lyrics. It can be how to interpret various. We can interpreted as free.
I tried to translate XD
Our love was common. ("but I was satisfied." or "so I gave up.") I wavered heart. I was just feeling.
If there are some mistakes in English, I'd like to apologize.

Translating lyrics can be a challenge. Just look at lyrics in songs from ANY language and you'll see that quite often they don't quite make sense...Japanese is no different. Songs aren't a bad way to learn Japanese but if you don't want to go crazy trying to figure out some lyrics then stick to other means...
