Kobe beef restaurant in Kobe 2013/8/6 11:48
Hi guys,

My group and I would like to try Kobe beef in Kobe itself since we were visiting. However, seeing that we are first timers, we wouldn't really need the absolute premium cut of beef.

So I have 2 questions...can anyone recommend a good Kobe beef restaurant to me in Kobe?

Do you guys know how much it would cost?

A-1 is quite reasonable, though not fancy: http://www.bento.com/kansai/rev/9036.html

Rokudan and Miyasu are a bit more upscale: http://www.bento.com/kansai/rev/9025.html

Prices listed in the reviews.

hi Janpang, I'm going to kobe and want to try kobe beef as well, was hoping to actually taste the highest quality one with good value, but having trouble finding info about how to check the grade of the meat.

When you look around few names pops out :
- A1
- Kobe steakland

those are the recommended ones, usually around 5,000Y esp for lunch set, problem is I dunno their meat grade.

Then some popular ones when I searched online are :
- Wakkoqu
- Moriya

Wakkoqu is the one I'm interested in, they have lunch set for around 5k JPY, but I'm not sure about the grade of the beef...but it should be kobe beef

Having gone to Steak Land on my last trip to Japan I would also recommend it. It's very reasonably priced but the food is quite tasty and it's fun to see them cook it in front of you teppanyaki style. As of last year, the dinner sets started at 4480 and went up to 7780. This includes soup and salad as well. Here's a couple blog posts about it:

I'll probably be going there myself on my upcoming trip to Japan. Hope that helps!
