Electric appliances of 240v work in japan

How can we get a 240v electrical equipment work in Japan? Specifically hiroshima. Can somehow a stabiliser can help to convert the whole house supply?

Its technically possible, but I'm not sure building codes would allow for you to convert the entire house. Also consider that its likely to be more complicated than simply sticking a transformer on the line, and may require rewiring the entire house. Plus there's the cost. Its probably cheaper to just buy all new appliances.

If you just need to use one or two items, look at getting a step up transformer. Make sure to get one that is properly rated for the device you want to use on it.

A lot homes and and apartments already have both 220V and 110V. Why 220V? Because all big air conditioning systems only work on 220V.

I have a 14-16 tatami air conditioning system and it only works on 220V. If you go to Biccamera for example you will see them.

Not easy, as Abhay says you would almost certainly need to rewire the whole house. You would find it much less hassle to get local kit that runs on the standard Japanese voltage.

The mains voltage used in Japanese houses is actually 100 V and 200 V (for large A/C units and IH cookers), but you get the point.

What appliances are you talking about? Just buy one or more step up transformers as needed. Remember lighting, refer, and other appliances, if provided are rated in 100v.
