Hand written Kanji translation

Hello... I am posting here hoping someone could help me... I am 100% unknown to Kanji, and, not knowing them very well - neither the strokes order, it is very difficult to me to try to translate a written in a picture that grabbed my attention. I can't have it unless I can understand what's in it, so, please, I appreciate any kind of help on this one. I tried by myself and it was very frustrating... :(

知足常楽、chi-soku-jyou-raku

soku has another meaning, enough

If you know enough, you are always happy.

This word is not so familier in Japan, probably famous in Taiwan and China.

This seems to be a Chinese proverb. "Always happy is he who knows that he has enough necessities." From the date/signature on the left, I assume this was done by a Chinese calligrapher.

But AK had me wonder: at the left, in the black space, is it only the calligrapher's signature with date, or does it have something else written?
