Alarm clock with infrared inactivation 2013/10/26 11:31
Hello all,

My friend requests me to buy him souvenir, an alarm clock with infrared inactivation function. He said it is like alarm clock with infrared pointer (which normally used in presentation) and it will stop ringing after being 'shot'.

Does anyone know where I can find something like that in Tokyo area?

Thanks in advance

By the time one stumble in the dark to find the pointer, one might as well turn off the clock manually..

The first time I stayed in Japan I was given 3 remotes to keep near my futon. One for the TV, one for the ceiling light, one for the air conditioner.
In the middle of the night I wanted to go to the bathroom and needed some light...
The first remote I grabbed turned the TV on with the sound fine for the day, too high for night time...
I shut it off at once just as my travel buddy woke up saying "what the.."
I grabbed another remote...it was the AC..I got up in the dark and of course stumbled on my buddy futon and stepped on his foot..

I have a Braun clock that is truly great..it is sound sensitive, so you shut it off by shouting at it, or clapping hands, or singing... or pushing on a bar at the top.

5 seconds later after you silenced it, it rings again, a bit louder..the next time it rings louder still, and louder every time, until you get up.

It does shut itself off after 1/2 hr though, so there is the risk of falling asleep and waking up late..

@MJ5: Thanks a lot for the link! I've confirmed it to my friend and he said it is what he wanted.

@Monkey see: I agree. It's expensive alarm clock for my standard, but that's what he wanted...-_-
