Hey there. I'm arriving to Japan and I want to bring some gifts for the people.
I'm planning on bringing Propolis in a spray (It's propolis disolved in alcohol) and some dried apples.
Will this be okay? I make them myself.

if dried apple is home-made, need plant quarantine inspection. it means impossible to bring it to Japan. If dried apple is pre-sealed by a company, need the certificate that proves no contamination of harmful insects and disease. it means again impossible personally.

Oh..ok. So no apples :(
How about Propolis spray? Consists of 10% Propolis and 90% Ethanol.

I'll try if it's flammable :)
But on the other hand, so is my perfume and I can make a spark from my cell phone battery in 2 seconds, so if one wants to make a fire on the plane, that really isn't an issue - he can.
Thank you for your answers.

So i got a reply from a customs officer.
No restrictions on propolis". Unless I bring 10kg of it in which case it will be taxed. And it goes under food products.
Imagine 10kg of propolis... :)
I've also read that there are no special restrictions against most dairy products.

dried fruits is ok even home made. Do not worry about this. Only fresh fruits are not allowed. My japanese friend who loves philippines mangoes always bring to japan from philippines Frozen fresh mango with the skin and seed removed to make mango shake. this is allowed to bring inside japan.

there is the reason to prohibition. anyone can bring anything to Japan, if not be found, even if drugs or guns. the point is that you intend to follow the Japan Law or not. If you want to violate the Law, you should not come to Japan.
