Entering Japan two times on a year? 2013/11/25 21:51
Hello!

I have a question that I would be very grateful if someone out there could help me with. I'm visiting Japan next year for 80 days for an project. Now I have been invited to participate in an project in Japan one month after during one month. I wonder if someone has any experience about entering Japan two times a year? Is this absolutely legal? or could there be any problem at all?

Very grateful for your help!

There is no limit on how many times you can enter Japan. Immigration is unlikely to become suspicious if you stay longer just 2-3 months on two stays. Also, Sweden is not among the countries that are known to cause immigration problems to Japan.

I personally in 2002/2003 entered Japan three times as a tourist within a year for a total duration of over half a year and was never asked a single question at immigration.

I entered thrice within half a year. Although the airport staff didn't ask any questions, they looked at me in a way which I find quite rude.
