Hi. can I travel to japan if my passport will expir on april 2014 and my flight will be on dec 22 2013? But i will return on january 12 2014 and im a japan passport holder

Ignore that advice. Many to most to maybe all countries require that a passport be valid for six months after entry. Your best bet is to renew your passport right now.

Unless he has a resident visa, he can't return to the Philippines with a passport that expires in under six months.
Passports can be renewed in Manila at the Consulate/Embassy of Japan.
