Where to get Kit Kats? 2013/12/23 00:53
1) Where can I find the variety pack of kit kats (15 flavors)? Or a wide selection of Kit Kats? We will be visiting Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and Atami. What kind of stores sell a huge variety? Supermarkets?

2) When are the sakura-matcha kit kats available? We will be in Japan roughly March 9 to 18. Is it too early?

Thanks.

In Ameyoko you get a better selection than most places in Tokyo. There is a shop at the Ueno end under the railway tracks & supermarket that's under the Nichiren temple that you can see from the platform in Okachimachi. I'm guessing Sola Machi under Sky Tree would also be a good place to find them.

I bought my Kitkat at Don Quijote, they had a big selection, but I haven't seen the variety pack.

You will see many shops in Kyoto selling them especially in the Gion area and Kiyomizudera. Mostly the hojicha and matcha flavors though.

I also second girltokyo's post. The shop is Niki no Kashi. http://www.nikinokashi.co.jp/ Sadly when I went last month, I could not find any kit kats at all. However I do know lots of people that did buy their stock from this shop so maybe I was just unlucky.

There's Kitkat store at Ikebukuro, google it, you should be able to find it. They have all kinds of Kitkat.

Tokyo Station, near the Ramen Street, there is a snack shop that sells over 10 flavors of Kit Kat. I went crazy there (12s box, 840 yen).

Ameyoko has very cheap Matcha (12s bag, 245 yen).

Kyoto Station only had 3 flavors - Uji Matcha, Hojicha and Cinnamon Cookie (12s box, 840 yen; 5 box, 370 yen).

Sakura-matcha (30s for i think 2,100 yen?) can be bought from Haneda Airport.

The new KitKat Chocolatery Boutique should be open now, and is apparently located in the Seibu department store in Ikebukuro: https://www2.seibu.jp/ikebukuro/

I am hoping to go there in two weeks and buy all the amazing flavours!
