Budget restaurants in Tokyo and Hakone 2013/12/29 17:30
Could anyone help advise the budget restaurants that sell the Japanese foods? I will be in Tokyo and Hakone next month. It would be great if you can provide me with the map of those restaurants in English, please?
Thank you very much!

You should be able to find budget restaurants wherever you are; just look for a Yoshinoya or Matsuya or similar. The best place to look is near the closest train station; budget establishments such as the above usually have prices clearly posted. Providing you with a map would be useless since we don't know where you'll be staying and travelling a long distance to eat at a budget restaurant would be counterproductive.

Hi.

How much is your budget?
I recommend Marugo and Mutsumi. They are reasonable and traditional Japanese restaurants.

visit any of 100 YEN shops and buy bread, bans, onigiri, sandwiches with 100 YEN and eat.
or if you want to eat decent meals then visit "Matsuya" near stations where you can have nice Japanese meals.

Like Tarutaru already asked, it all depends on what you consider a budget restaurant. No matter where you are in Japan, you can get a perfectly decent meal for around 1000 yen about everywhere. If you stick to things like ramen or gyudon, half of that (or even less) would do, but then you'll be missing out on a lot of great food.
