zerachin - vegetarian? 2013/12/30 05:44
Hi everyone,
I know that most Japanese foods use agar instead of gelatine, but I was wondering - when you see zerachin (ゼラチン) in the list of ingredients does that mean it is an animal product or could it be agar? Or is agar always labeled as itself?
What other ingredients should vegetarians look out for?
Thank you very much in advance

@Chris

ゼラチン (zerachin) is gelatine (not vegetarian)
寒天 (kanten) is agar (vegetarian)
