Is it easy to rentwifi routers on arrival by air? I may be arriving at Narita or Kansai. Which is the best in terms of battery life and coverage arounf Tokyo & Osaka

You can easily find rental agents in both Narita and Kansai Aiport, such as DOCOMO, Softbank, Telecom Square etc...
Batteries are usually rechargeable. Some may rent you extra battery with low additional costs or no charges.
Most WiFi routers covers famous tourist attractions as well as urban districts so no worry about the coverage unless you destination is in a remote location.
