Depends on what kind of teenager you are and where you live. You will often be in a school club (sports, orchestra, etc) where often you are practicing every day after school and go home and do your homework and go to bed.

Otherwise you may not be belonging to a club like that, you just hang out with your friends at the mall and stuff. Or, you don't have friends and you go straight home, shut your self up in your room and watch anime video or play Playstation3. That's not that much different from any other place.

They normally spend at school between 8:00 and 15:30 or 16:00. The majority of pupils join sporting or cultural activities after school at their school until 17:00 or 18:00.
Some pupils age over 16 yrs do part time work after school. Some pupils do extra swatting or extra tuition at cram school for high school or university entrance until 22:00 or 23:00.
Majority of pupils enjoy internet or mobile network system such as Line, Facebook, Twitter, and blog updates as well as watching TV and anime, listening music, reading Manga. A third of teens have a boy/girl friend but is not majority.

It pretty much depends on the gender, too.

For girls, puri-kura has been a huge part of their lives for years. You can also watch international TV shows like Kawaii International to find out more about what girls do for fun. A lot of girls are into hip-hop dancing, too, which is also taught at school nowadays.

For boys, a lot of high-teens might go to game archades after school. As for sports, soccer is the most popular and "cool" sport for boys, but sports like table tennis is a lot more accessible.

Depending on the region or season, teens might go skating, skiing or swimming. On weekends, they might go to karaoke or the movies. If you're in a band, teens would usually play anime songs.

Roughly, these are the major things they do for "fun," but studying is quite a major part of their lives, too.
