Im 17 years old, half filipino half japanese, and currently taking my college course here in Philippines. My parents are planning to change my citizenship to Japanese but are worrying if that could be a hindrance to my study. If i change my citizenship to japanese, do i need to go to japan? or what?

If you're sure that you don't already have Japanese nationality, then yes, you have to move to Japan before you turn 20 years old to get it. If you do this, you don't have to give up your Filipino nationality. You're supposed to give it up eventually but you don't have to. I'll explain more if needed.
