So im going back to japan after living abroad for a while and i was wondering if japan sells tobacco to roll your own cigarettes with?

Yes, Japan does sell loose tobacco, but it is not very common. You will have to find a tobacco specialty shop to get some. You will not likely find it in the more remote areas of Japan, and only in the larger metropolitan areas.
