いのししの護王神社 (inoshishi no Go-o Jinja)

Wild boar's Go-o Shrine

I believe this shrine has some stories behind it that it is often called "shrine of wild boar" :)

The Holy Spirit of "Wake no Kiyomaro" is deified in Goou-Jinja.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_no_Kiyomaro

A monk called "Dokyo" had strong power in Kyoto politics and committed to take the position of Emperor. Dokyo lied that he got a spiritual message from Usa-Jingu shrine in Oita that Dokyo should become the Emperor.
The Empress Shotoku sent Wake no Kiyomaro to Usa-Jingu that make sure the message was true. Wake no Kiyomaro visited Usa-Jingu and the message was untrue. Wake no Kiyomaro reported and then found the message was lie. Dokyo failed to take the position, had anger and cut Wake no Kiyomaro's foot tendons and then committed to kill him. Wake no Kiyomaro was unable to even walk but he wanted to visit back Usa-Jingu to pray again for saving the Japanese royalty. When the cargo of Wake no Kiyomaro reached in Fukuoka, about 300 wild pigs gathered and surrounded Wake no Kiyomaro. Wild pigs took Wake no Kiyomaro to Usa-Jingu to protect him from the assassin Dokyo sent. Wake no Kiyomaro safely arrived in Usa-Jingu and made the pray successfully. Wake no kiyomaro was able to walk again. One year later Dokyo was demoted and forced to leave Kyoto. Wake no Kiyomaro was promoted and up graded to serve as the Emperor's workplace member.
Goou-Jinja believes the story and deify Wake no Kiyomaro and wild pigs. If you are born in the year of wild pig(1935,1947,1959,1971, 1983,1995,2007) and visited Goou-jinja, Goou-Jinja believes your life will be even happier ans wealthy. Therefore wild pigs are printed in the Ema,
