Where to buy prepaid sim card in Airport 2014/11/22 23:19
I come across so-net, is it good for their coverage?

Does anyone know how much it is? The website only stated refill amount but not the cost.
Or is there any alternative?

Too bad you didn't do a simple Google search on "so-net sim cost." You would have easily found the price.

Most prepaid data sim card are not available at the airport.

You have to buy it online and have it delivered to Airport Post Office for your collection or your hotel.

Some sim cards are available at big electrical shops in town.

Other alternative and popular with visitors:

The 1 GB so-net sim is 3000 yen. Unfortunately it did not work with my android smartphone. Be sure that your phone is on the list of compatible devices.

They are served by docomo so it's one of the better networks in Japan.

Yes, they are cagey about the initial costs. They actually offer tons of different sims, but the one you are probably interested in is the 3000 yen, 1gb plan.

Yes, there are several options depending on your needs. I'd suggest looking into b-mobile, global advanced communications, or econnect.

FYI, half of the google results either don't list the price, or have the wrong price. The situation is further complicated because so-net has a lot of offerings and they purposefully don't list official prices for some of their products.

Thanks yllwsmrf!

I had seen some indicated 3000yen is only based plan with 300mb and any additional requires to top up.

And so-net website stated from 30 Oct 2014, there is changes of plan and yet did not state how much is the plan.

So pretty confused here.

I will just settle with b-mobile or econnect then.
