Tokyo and Kyoto transportation 2015/2/7 12:42
I will be travelling to Tokyo and Kyoto soon. Coming in through Narita, and leaving through Kansai airports. What are the best options in terms of transpirations and passes? The JR pass might not be practical since am not doing a return TOKYO trip? How about JR Kansai passes? Or Pasmo cards? Which is more ideal?

Thank you!

The biggest expense will be the long-distance trip between Tokyo and Kyoto. Your options are explained here:

For the urban transportation, I recommend to use Suica. On particularly busy days you may consider a day pass.

thank you! Will Suica be valid for both Tokyo and Kyoto subway stations / buses?

Yes, Suica can now be used very easily.

thank you so much!

so far this is what i've gathered:

From Narita to Tokyo - use Narita Express
trains/ subways in Tokyo - SUICA IC card

from Tokyo - Kyoto - one way Shinkansen bullet train
trains/subways/ buses in Kyoto -SUICA IC card

Kyoto to Kansai airport - JR Limited Express Haruka train.

does this look like the most ideal and practical way for our trip? :)
