Sunrise Izumo/Seto compartments 2015/2/8 14:36
Hi,
I recall there are some different private compartments in thme Sunrise Izumo/Seto night train. There is A Single DX, B Single and B Single Solo as well as Twin.

I keep wondering about the difference between B Single and B Single Solo. On the pictures I found the Solo look like having no door at all? Is this true? Are there any space for lugguage (small backpack at least in the B Singles?

Thanks in advance

The normal B singles are in the 2floor carriages. They look like this https://www.jr-odekake.net/train/sunriseseto_izumo/img/accommo_02.jpg

B solo in the cars with the motors in, so not enough height to be 2 floors, so they are kinda above and below each other with steps inside the doorway. As I recall, they are not as roomy as the B single. http://www62.tok2.com/home/tsubame787/seat_285/solo/02.jpg

There's room for bags in the B single, but you might have to try to squeeze them in the stair bit of the B solo.

From the images on the following page, it would appear that all private rooms have doors with push-button combination locks.

The only sleeping spaces without doors appear to be the nobi-nobi compartments.

Regarding baggage (and room space in general), one of the comments to that post has a lot of detailed first-hand information - click on "Older Comments" near the bottom and look for the entry from user JAyre (the date stamp is "September 23, 2011 at 2:14 am").

Cheers.
