I've ordered JR Pass from Japan Experience website and after 3 days they asked me to send them my passport scan. Is this normal practice? I havnt even recieved my pass yet.

Passport details are needed to issue an exchange order. I am not sure how they usually get the data and why they ask you for a scan after as many as three days, but I know that the company is highly trustable.

Usually they just trust that you supplied the correct information, but sometimes they want to be sure.

never in the last decade of me buying JRP's have i ever had to send any details in when ordering a pass, but this might be a area specific thing.
