Shimokita peninsula autogate 2015/3/15 02:47
This might sound a bit odd question but saw a clip on youtube where a guy on motorbike travelled to the northeast part of Shimokita peninsula. But there was an automated gate there closing his way. Why is the gate there? Also, are there any more places in Japan with such automated road gates?

There are kandachime(寒立馬,cold standing horse) to Shiriyazaki(尻屋崎) of Shimokita peninsula.
So that the kandachime does not run away, have become automatic gate.
Motorcycle seems to enter to open the gate by pressing the button.

7:00 to 17:00 only seems not be able to open the gate.
In addition, time is only from April to November.

I never seen a gate in the road.
However, when I climb the mountain, there is manually be to the opening and closing of the gate.
It is because such deer and bear to prevent escape in town.
The place where kandachime are in the winter, the manual gate.
