Take a JR Rapid train from Wakayama to Hineno, change to JR Rapid train to Kansai.
First leg is about 30 minutes, second leg about 12 minutes, total travel time approx. 47 minutes, costs Yen 890. Do not take Ltd Express Trains which is costly. You can buy a through ticket. For schedules, use Hyperdia timetable to check. Services are frequent.
