Osaka and Kyoto itinerary

Hi all
Planning a trip to Osaka & Kyoto in June and will also visit Nara, Kobe and Himeji. Total stay is 9 days in all. Proposed itinerary:-
Day 1 - Kansai-Kyoto
Day 2 - Kyoto
Day 3 - Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto
Day 4 - Kyoto - Himeji - Kobe
Day 5 - Kobe - Arima Onsen
Day 6 - Arima Onsen - Osaka
Day 7 - Osaka
Day 8 - USJ
Day 9 - Osaka
Is this itinerary efficient?
Is there sufficient time to cover the key sights in Kyoto (Nijo castle, Nishiki mkt, Imperial Palace, Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizudera, Ginkakuji, Arashiyama, Kinkakuji) and Osaka (Osaka Castle, aquarium, city area)?
Do I need to get the kansai wide pass or just use hakura + icoca?
