Unique cafe open early in Tokyo 2015/5/25 17:02
I'll be arriving at Shinjuku Station around 8am on a Saturday and have plans to hang out with friends until sometime in the afternoon. We're looking for something different to do besides our usual arcade/karaoke hangouts, and wanted to check out some themed or otherwise unique cafes.

We're a group of girly nerds and open to anything, but would prefer something a little classier than your average Akihabara maid cafe. We are able to call ahead to make reservations if necessary.

The problem I'm running into is that many places do not open until late. Any ideas for early morning and lunch time options in and around Shinjuku or Ikebukuro?

There's not all that much open in Shinjuku before 10am. Two fairly ordinary cafes that are open are Paul Bassett (http://bento.com/rev/4063.html ) and Gontran Cherrier (http://bento.com/rev/4221.html ).

Calico cat cafe opens from 10am, and they'll probably let you reserve: http://animalcafes.com/v/25414.html

The always-entertaining Tokyu Hands (http://www.whereintokyo.com/venues/25304.html ) is open from 10am, and the local Don Quijote in Kabukicho (near the cat cafe) is open 24 hours a day.
