"I think" in japanese

Hello everyone, I learned that "I think" in japanese would be "to omoimasu" at the end of the statement

For example:

りんさんは犬が好きですと思います
(Rin-san wa inu ga suki desu to omoimasu)
I think Rin likes dogs

I am just wondering is this the most common way to say it. I never heard an "I think" type of sentence from a native Japanese person before.

リンさんは、犬が好きだと思います。
(Rin san wa inu ga suki dato omoimasu)

りんさんは　犬が好きだ　と　思います (I think that Rin likes dogs.)
The part that comes in the clause beginning with "that..." in English needs to be in the informal speech, thus "da," instead of "desu."

"desu" and "masu" always come in the end.
Never come in the middle.

inu dato omoi masu.
inu desu.

If you want to use fancy japanese then add wa.
とは思います。

It is not "fancy," but that "wa" has a meaning. If you say "...to wa omoimasu," that makes it sound like "I THINK so... but (there is something else to it)," or "yes I think so but (I cannot agree)," or something like that.

If you simply want to say "I think (that...)," then sticking to "...to omoimasu" is the way to go.
