Hi I would appreciate if someone may help me with a translation to the flag please . I think there are 2 names and a lot of signatures. But hoping that there is some indication on where the flags own r may have been originally from. Thankyou

The two lines (as they appear on the left side of the flag in the photo - by the way it's upside-down) say:

祈武運長久 Best wishes for long-lasting luck at war
園田鎌一郎君 (to) dear Mr. Ken'ichiro Sonoda

Just the name, no location.

There are some groups who are dedicated to returning such flags to their owners' families... I believe there are a few other threads here as well, which you should be able to find if you search the forum.

Thank you for your kind reply and explanation. Is there any site in Japan where one would be able to search for this soldiers war record? Or place of enlistment ? I do have a drone now yo also look at returning this flag to his family. Thanks on advance. Alan
