Day trip from Tokyo to Hirazumi

Hello,can anyone tell me it is possible to go to Hirazumi in a day trip from Tokyo, if I want to cover Chusonji Temple, Motsuji Temple and Geibikei (Geibi Gorge) or where should I stay for convinient visit to Hirazumi.

Possible but itfs a very long daytrip. Based on Hyperdia search :- TOKYO – ICHINOSEKI (SHINKANSEN YAMABIKO 41) 06:04 - 08:36 ICHINOSEKI – HIRAIZUMI (JR Tohoku Line) 08:59 - 09:07 HIRAIZUMI – ICHINOSEKI (JR Tohoku Line) 14:26 - 14:35 ICHINOSEKI – GEIBIKEI (JR Ofunato Line) 14:55 - 15:24 Timetable for the cruise along Geibikei Gorge http://www.geibikei.co.jp/funakudari/charge/GEIBIKEI – ICHINOSEKI (JR Ofunato Line) 18:44 - 19:14 ICHINOSEKI - TOKYO (SHINKANSEN YAMABIKO 56) 19:21 - 22:00 I suppose you can spend the night in Ichinoseki if you do not want to be too taxing. As for me I will be in Sendai for 3 nights late October and be doing a daytrip from there.
