Jimbocho ski shops close on New Years?

I am going to a ski/snowboarding trip in Hakuba on the 2nd of Jan. I am planning to visit the stretch of road that sells winter gear shops in Jimbocho before I head over to Hakuba.
Will the shops be open on the 1st of Jan? If not, will it be open on the 31st of Jan? Can I expect that most of the shops would be open half day on 31st Jan?
I am asking as I am planning when should I land in Tokyo before heading over to Hakuba. Thank you for your help!

I think majority of sports shops close on 1 Jan, open until 18:00 on 31 Dec, reopen on 2 Jan from 10:00 or 11:00.
