Hi there!
I am going to tokyo in january and want to buy a nice matcha bowl or chawan how it is called. Until now I ordered them online. Unfortunately I was not able to find at google a shop or area of shops where I can buy matcha bowls, they should be in the price range around 3000-5000 yen and of course should be handmade.
Any guesses?
Thanks a lot
best,
chris

We bought last month two matcha jawan(chawan) at the ware section of Isetan, a department store in Kyoto station. The price was reasonable, around 3,000 yen. They were product of a potter in Gifu prefecture. In Tokyo, there are excellent department stores, for example, Isetan at Shinjuku, Mitsukoshi at Nihonbashi and Ginza and so on. Department stores of class has already a good selection of merchandise. We are Japanese.
