Recs for accessories for women in their 30s 2016/1/2 20:04
I'm looking for recommendations for shops to buy accessories (scarves, bags, bracelets, etc.) for women in their early 30s. I'm a teacher at a college.

Going to Tokyo next month. Style is US preppy or similar to a Japanese men's fashion "kireime-kei."

I have set aside 40,000 yen for these accessories.

I don't mind going to Chiba, Saitama, or Yokohama but I'd rather stick to central Tokyo. This is my fourth trip but I was younger in previous trips and I now have a professional job so my style has changed.

Where did you shop when you were in your 20s?

Your question is somewhat difficult to answer, without knowing your tastes/preferences more in detail, and seeing that the items range quite a bit. Maybe you could try a few department stores; Seibu in either Shibuya or Ikebukuro, Takashimaya in Shinjuku, or Matsuya in Ginza, though it could be bit tight for your budget. They tend to have "women's fashion accessories" all on one floor usually.

BEAMS or Lumine (Shinjuku or Ikebukuro) would be a bit less expensive.

Walk into major "fashion buildings" and check shops in there. Each has tens-hundreds shops. I am the similar age as you and list up buildings which fit our age. There are many department stores in these areas too but I skipped them as it must be easy to search them.

Tokyo
- Marubiru
- oazo
- Kitte
- ecute

Ginza
- Marui
- Caretta

Shinjuku
- Lumine
- Flags
- Marui
- Myload
- Pepe

Shibuya/Harajuku/Ebisu
- Parco
- Mark City
- Lumine
- Hikarie
- Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku
- Omotesando Hills
- Ebisu Garden Place

Thanks ... and amenoshita.

Previously I just hunted around Harajuku or wore whatever I found interesting, but I'm looking to change my style a little. Previously I looked like something from a 2001 Old Navy ad and when I lived in the US, I shopped there a lot.

I'll try BEAMS and Lumine -- I certainly know where Lumine and I recall visiting before. Someone on this site previously recommended ecute, I guess I really will have to check them out.

Sorry for nit-picking, but there's no Marui in Ginza (maybe amenoshita means Marui in Yurakucho?) and Caretta is near Shinbashi and does not really have shops to buy those stuff...

Other recommention is great, and I'd add Roppongi Hills in Roppongi.

@edincoat
Lumine is good and big enough.
If you like BEAMS, these brands may be match your taste too. They have many shops at major stations in Tokyo.
UNITED ARROWS
TOMORROWLAND
SHIPS
JOURNAL STANDARD

Yes it's Marui in Yurakucho and usually when people say Ginza area it includes Yurakucho.
And right Caretta is not a great place to shopping accessories.
If edincoat visits Roppongi I would recommend Roppongi Midtown too. But I think these spots are a little bit expensive.

amenoshita, UNITED ARROWS and SHIPS are perfect. This is exactly, exactly what I was looking for. I will try TOMORROWLAND -- I saw a few things there I might like, but the first two are very exciting.

Thanks again for your help. I only have ten days in Japan and I want to maximize that time buying some really good items.
