Hey
I'm a young man from Canada going on working holiday. My education is sadly just a high school diploma.
I heard many places in Japan only want a BA because the government requires it for ALT.
So do i have a decent shot at getting a job? I don't expect to make a lot of money just enough to get by is okay for a few months.
I have helped some Japanese people in Canada study English. So i guess i could say i have tutoring experience.
Any tips for my first Japanese job? Ive been to japan twice but never had a job there.

A degree is basically required for a work visa (not strictly, but much easier) - there is no requirement to have a degree to teach English. However, it's more likely you would be able to get a job at a private English school. Go, apply, see what happens.

Will you have a working holiday visa? If so, this will make it easier to apply for jobs, as the companies won't have to sponsor you for a work visa.

thanks for the reply guys! yes it is working holiday not a work visa. Are there any jobs that are not teaching jobs a gaijin can do? Perhaps a tourist area may need English speakers?
I heard some people act as if i need a PHD in English to get a job in Japan while others are like its super dooper easy haha. so i want to get as many options as i can.
