Kitsuki mo shinakatta
Why do we use 'mo' here? Is it a phrase? What form is 'kitsuki'?

It might have been - Kizuki mo shinakatta. (Did not even notice/realize.)
"kizuku/kizukimasu" 気づく、気づきます (maybe I should spell it as "kiduku/kidukimasu") is a verb meaning "to notice/realize." In this sentence, "mo" adds the "(did not) EVEN..." meaning.
