Using Iphones in Japan

-Hey! So I'm going to Japan for a month on exchange this summer and was wondering about my iphone. If there a way to use apps like LINE and snapchat if I simply hook up to their wifi. I'm not expecting to text and call.
-When I hosted my host brother last year, he would hook up to my wifi and used twitter on his smart phone. Wasn't sure how it worked or if it would even work at all!

Line certainly works over wifi, don't know about Snapchat but I would be surprised if it didn't.

Wifi is wifi. If your iPhone uses your wifi at home for apps, it will use wifi in Japan for the same apps.
