Recommended Kobe Beef restaurant

Can anyone give recommendations for a restaurant which serves not only Kobe beef, but also other Japanese food, in Kyoto, Kobe, or in the nearby areas? We have a JR Pass so we can travel anywhere.

It's because I want to try Kobe beef, but one of our companions is on a diet which prohibits her form eating beef so she would prefer sushi. Most of the steakhouses who specialize in Kobe beef usually serve nothing but beef, so I am looking for one which has not only good Kobe beef, but good sushi as well. thanks!

Ordinarily in Japan beef restaurants will serve only beef and sushi restaurants will serve only sushi. Frankly your best bet would probably be an upscale hotel restaurant that caters to tourists - that's where I would start looking.
