Japanese Phone # For SMS Verification

Hi, I am living in japan for 3 months, and would like to be able to use some of the flea market iphone apps here, however they all seem to require sms verification from a Japanese phone number.

Is there any way I can go about getting a Japanese number just long enough to sign up? My friend here said that most of the rental phones are used for the app already, so the phone might not work.
