Selling a car in Japan

Hi
I'm trying to sell a car in Japan and I am unsure of whether we will need to pay consumption tax (or any other tax) on the amount.
We have been quoted an amount but the buyer mentioned that the price includes tax, which we didn't expect to have to pay.
We received the car for free when we purchased a house in Japan.
