college student visa/ student visa ..same?

I recently changed my status because I will becom a college student in Japan.

I was a language student and will become a college student.

I just received my new residence card and the status says; student.

It doesn't say college student. I saw that to become eligible for certain scholarship you have to have college student status.

I'm not sure if this visa means the same thing or if there was an error made.

The old "Pre-College Student" and "College Student" statuses have been merged into a single "Student" status in 2012. If you see them referenced somewhere, that source is out of date.
