Use sony for voice call in Japan? 2016/9/17 16:33
Hey,
I'm travelling to Japan in one week, for 8 days. Kyoto.
Is it possible for me to use my 2 year old Sony Xperia for voice call and normal sms'?

or

Do I have to perchase/rent a japanese sim card?

Tanks
Ann

If it is not locked and the phone is supported in Japan, then just a sim will work. Please not the "if".

No it is not locked

There is a good chance that it should work then as long as the phone can operate on Japanese network frequencies. What is the phone model?

It's a Sony xperia Z3 compact. About 2 years old.

Tech specs match up, so it will likely work with most of the Japanese prepaid carriers.
