Google Pixel in Japan

So it was just announced of course, but I've been unable to find any information about the coverage in Japan.
When it is out and can be bought in the simfree format, will any wireless company's support the Google Pixel cell phone?.

Hmm... I'm banking on using the Pixel via Google Fi in Japan (which has been confirmed to work with the Nexus)... so if the Pixel works with Google Fi, I bet it will work with the local carriers, since Google Fi doesn't have their own towers, and uses local carrier partners.

Any updates on when users can see the phone in Tokyo shops?
