Hi.
I would appreciate your feedback regarding budget grocery stores information where I can buy cheap snacks, cooked meals (other than combini) and other stuffs in Takaoka and Toyama. I will be visiting those places and will stay near each station.
Thanks.

The largest supermarket we found was in the station building at Toyama.

Seems no one really knows Takaoka that much.
Thanks Ausfam for the feedback.

Thanks LS for the feedback!
You know what's funny, I tried Google that way but it doesn't show the way your link has pointed me to.
I'll take note of other links as well. Kudos!

We found a very small information desk at Takaoka Station where we were given a map of the bus route (in Japanese). I showed the lady my map of the places we wanted to visit, and she showed us on the bus route map which stops we would need. In Toyama, don't miss the Glass Art Museum ( http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7503.html). The permanent Glass Art Garden on the 6th floor is wonderful. There is always someone you can ask about supermarkets, whether at the station or at your accommodation.

Another little tip: if you've got a JR pass, you can use it on the non-JR trains between Toyama and Takaoka. Just a small saving, but it all helps! See http://www.japan-guide.com/news/0033.html. JR Pass holders may use non-JR trains between Takaoka and Toyama (but are not allowed to get on or off anywhere in between) to access the JR Himi Line and the JR Johana Line .
