Shikoku visit places by car 2016/11/18 16:38
Hi,
I am planning a trip to Shikoku for 10-14 days. I know there is quite good transportation along most of the coast and to many big cities like Matsuyama, Takamatsu, Kochi, Uwajima, etc.

However. I would like to see some off the beaten path areas as well or areas that would be easier or faster to access by rental car.

Doing the whole coast á la Shikoku henro style would be too far I believe but renting car in other areas like the big or smaller cities and exploring the areas would be a better idea I think. Doing the long travel by train.

So.... Do you have any recommended "must see" areas that would be best with car?

I plan on visit Cape Murodo, Cape Ashizuri, the Sada misaki peninsula and possibly the Iya-area, since people say the buses are not very convenient.

Thanks in advance!

If you are willing to get up early, you might want to catch the "Sea of Clouds" view in Kochi.

I would also go to the Iya Valley, and see the Naruto Whirlpools.

I'd also go to Ozu and Matsuyama, but I don't that would require a car.
