camera to be exchanged for newer model? 2016/12/28 03:10
Hello,

I bought my camera from Japan (Bic Camera) about 8 months ago when I visited the country for pleasure.

Now I am planning to return to Japan sometimes in next 4 months for a business trip.

I have tried to google this up but most of information are out of date (ie those are from 2010 or earlier than that - I consider those are out of date).

If I want to buy a newer model of same camera, I can "sell" or exchange my camera partially to that newer model at Yodobashi or BIC camera shops in Tokyo?? For example, I sell my nearly new camera to the shop and I get "store credit" which I can use on newer camera?

Or not?

Please advise. Many thanks again.

Depends on the model.

Many camera stores do take a "trade in" when purchasing a new camera. But don't expect to receive a lot for it. Bring the original receipt to the same store you bought it from, which shows that you are a good repeating customer "otokui-sama".
